Clans are groups of players (on the same platform and server) who join forces to socialize, obtain Clan Dragons, battle other Clans, and earn Clan-Exclusive Dragons and other rewards. The Clan Fortress (the physical building South-East of the main island) is the base of operations for Clans.

The Clan interface can be accessed by pressing:

If the Trainer is not in a Clan, the Join or Create a Clan option appears; otherwise, the main Clan screen appears.

Non-Member View

Clan Header (Non-Member View).png

When viewing the details of another Clan as a non-member, the following can be seen: Crest, Clan name, Level, current and maximum number of members, language, description (if set), League, membership acceptance status, a member list sorting options drop-down, and a list of current members of the Clan (their name, avatar, level, rank, Dragon Collector Points, and a ••• button to, depending on their privacy settings, invite, visit, check profile, report, block, or visit their Islands). Non-member action buttons also appear depending on a Clan's membership acceptance status:

  •   Join   – Join the Clan (open/without approval) if there are free spots.
  •   Apply   – Apply to join (join by request) if there are free spots.
    • The applicant must wait until their request is reviewed by a member with the ability to accept or reject it. Applying to multiple Clans at the same time is not possible, prior requests must be cancelled first.
    • To cancel a membership request, return to where the Apply button was pressed and press it again, then press the Cancel Request button.
  • No membership button is available if the status of the Clan is set to Closed.
  • Report Report Icon.png – Report the Clan, which provides the following options:
  • Checkbox Icon.png Clan Name

  •   Use   – Select a Dragon or Crest.

Membership & Levels

Clans start out with a maximum of 15 members, once certain Clan levels are reached, the limit increases. There are 15 possible Clan Levels, and increases provide additional crest choices. Clan level is determined by the amount of Clan Experience Icon.png Clan Experience, earned by members who complete Clan Quests Icon.png Clan Quests.

Ranks

Members of a Clan can have various ranks, initially assigned by the Clan Leader. Except for the Leader, there is no limit to how many members can have a rank. If the leader leaves without assigning a replacement, the highest-ranking member automatically inherits their position.

Clan Chat.jpg Clan Header.png
Clan Member List Button.png Collection Button.png Clan Events Button.png
Clan Powers Button.png Clan Shop Button.png Clan Quest Button.png

Once in a Clan, from left to right, the Clan hub displays several distinct buttons or sections that can be interacted with:

  1. Chat (and Tabs) – Provides options to interact with the Clan and its members (see Chat for details).
  2. Clan Settings (and Banner) – Displays Clan details and settings.
  3. Member (List) – Provides the Clan members list, sortable via different drop-down menu options.
  4. Collection (Clan Dragons) – Displays all Clan Dragons.
  5. Clan Events (and Fortress) – Houses Events, Fortress functions and Clan Dragons or Eggs.
  6. Clan (Fortress) Powers – Opens a menu of Clan Fortress Powers members can use.
  7. Clan Shop – Displays currently available shop items.
  8. Clan Quests – Displays the Clan Quests Icon.png Clan Quests list (open), Fortress functions, and Clan Dragons or Eggs.

Above the main Clan interface buttons appears the:

  • Clan Coins Icon.png50+ Button.pngClan Coins count.
  • Clan Dragon Power Token Icon.png50+ Button.pngClan Dragon Power Tokens count.
  • ? – Information button, which provides basic Clan information.
  • Ranking Icon.pngRanking button, listing the Top (50) Clans, Clan Leagues, and Clan (MVP) Scores.
  • x – Close button, which closes the Clan interface.

Chat

Sticker - Cry.png
This feature has multiple bugs, new text submitted goes under the keyboard on mobile devices, the text input field disappears randomly while typing, and Trainers can no longer see their own rank or badges, leading some to think they had been demoted (when they had not).
Clan Chat.jpg

Clan Chat is the first of three Clan tabs, and the interface used to communicate with other Clan members. Clicking the text field allows members to send messages. A limited number of past messages are retained in chat (50); however, if the screen stays active, the number of retained messages increases until full log-off. Clan tabs each send automated messages, the Messages Icon.png Messages tab sends messages when:

  • The Clan levels up.
  • A Clan Event starts or the participation period becomes active.
  • MVP MVP Icon.png is rewarded
  • A Legendary recipe is completed.
  • A Clan member joins, leaves, or is removed.
  • The Clan Dragon is changed.
  • Clan settings are changed.

The Gifts and Donations Icon.png Gifts and Donations tab sends messages when:

Sending Messages

</noinclude> Messages are sent by pressing the Clan Chat text input field, typing a message, and then pressing either the Return button on the keyboard, or the Chat Send Icon.png button.

Messages sent by others display a Clan member's nickname, rank (if any), equipped badge, time sent, the ••• button for report Report Icon.png and Block Block Icon.png options, and the MVP Icon.png MVP icon if a member is the current MVP. Individual messages are limited to 512 characters, and profanity is censored with asterisks, depending on Clan settings. The color of Chat text is changed by adding a # symbol immediately followed by any number from 1 to 9, then entering the desired text to color. Profanity filtering is enabled or disabled by members of the appropriate Clan rank, who can edit the Clan settings, this filtering is enabled by default.

Donations

During Clan Events, Clan members can request help from, or help other, Clan members through donations. A limited number of event items, earned through the completion of Clan Quests, can be donated to other players.

When a donation request appears in chat, pressing the   Donate   button at the right of the request allows donation. The i button on the request displays how many donations the Trainer has made that day, and how many remaining donations can be made.

If members leave a Clan, their donation counter resets, even if they re-join the same Clan; however, Clan Coins are not lost when leaving or switching Clans.

Enchantment Material can be requested from Clan members by pressing the Enchantment Materials Icon.png Request Material button in the Gifts and Donations Icon.png Gifts and Donations tab of the Clan tabs. The Trainer can request either 16 fair or 2 average materials at once, every 24 hours. Once sent, the Trainer must wait either until a Clan mate has donated the requested material, or until 24 hours has passed, before a new request can be sent. Donators receive 1 Enchanted Trinket for 1 Fair Material, and 6 Enchanted Trinkets for 1 Average Material in exchange for donation, and can donate up to a maximum of 24 times per day. Legendary, Primal, Divine, and Ancient materials cannot be requested or donated, except for extremely rare special occasions.

If a requestor does not receive all materials asked for, the notification stays on-screen in the Gifts and Donations Icon.png tab. The notification displays their nickname, rank, and badge (if applicable), the date, the time requested, the items requested, the progress towards fulfillment, a Donate button, and the i button. The latter button, when pressed, displays the donator's already donated amount for the day, and the time until the donation limit reset.

Sticker - Cry.png
This feature has a bug, as average Primal materials can be requested but don't exist.

  1. Fair Primal materials don't exist in-game but can still be requested as part of an unfixed bug. Requesting such nonexistent materials causes the request to stay stuck in chat for 24 hours, despite not being fulfillable. This probably occurs because the request screen shares an interface with Average Primal materials, which do exist, and both were not made unavailable as was done for Legendary, Divine, Ancient, and Tyrant materials.

  1. Average Primal materials exist but probably shouldn't be requestable, since they appear to share an interface with the nonexistent Fair materials that can be requested despite not existing (a bug).
Blocking, Unblocking, Reporting

As in other areas of the game, players can be blocked, unblocked, or reported from inside a Clan. Once blocked, nothing can be received from that Trainer. Blocking also prevents the Trainer from seeing the player's name, profile, or other information in other areas of the game except the Block List tab. Not seeing a blocked Trainer's information includes on leaderboards or inside Clans, though it does not hide their listing entirely; a generic listing is seen where "Blocked Player" text replaces the Trainer's name, their avatar is replaced by the Block Icon.png icon, other information is removed, and an Unblock button appears on the right of their listing. Pressing the Unblock button instantly unblocks. Furthermore, blocked Trainers cannot be visited, their Dragons cannot be seen to be hired, and a blocked Trainer's profile also can't be viewed until they've been unblocked.

Blocking

Blocking a player is done by pressing the ••• button in any area of the game where Trainer information appears, pressing the Block Block Icon.png button, then confirming the choice by pressing the Yes button.

Unblocking

Unblocking a Trainer is done either in the Block List as explained above, or by pressing the ••• button in any area of the game where Trainer's information appears, then pressing the Unblock button (unblocking is instant after pressing this button).

Reporting

Reporting a Trainer is done by pressing the ••• button in any area of the game where player information appears, then pressing the Report Report Icon.png button. A Report screen appears with four available checkboxes for report reasons:

  • Checkbox.png Hack/Cheat
  • Checkbox.png Player Name
  • Checkbox.png Player Avatar
  • Checkbox.png Other

A comment box also appears that allows for further comments, or explanations/reasons in the case that the Other option is checked. The Cancel button can be pressed to cancel the report, or the OK button to submit it.

Settings

Clan Header.png

In the Clan details panel, appears the ••• more button. Leaders and Co-Leaders have access to different Clan settings, depending on their rank. Additional shields for crests may be available, depending upon the current Clan level.

Functions inside ••• settings include:

  • Clan Search Icon.png Clan List (Clan Search) – for searching for other Clans.
  • Leave Clan Icon.png Leave Clan – to exit the current Clan (appears for all members except the Leader), and provides the following options:
    • Yes, I want to leave. – to confirm leaving.
    • No, I changed my mind! – to cancel leaving.
  • Clan Settings Icon.png Clan Settings – opens the same window used when the Clan was created, with the Clan name grayed out (it cannot be changed). After pressing, two buttons are provided:
    •   Edit Clan   – to edit previously selected Clan settings or details (appears for the Leader or Co-Leaders).
    •   Disband Clan   – to close the Clan (appears for the Leader only if they're the only member).

After the Edit Clan button is pressed, the following settings appear:

  • Checkbox (Checked) Icon.png / Checkbox Icon.png – Select a status for accepting members:
    • Open Clan – Any person can join if there are free spots.
    • Join by request – Any person can apply but must be approved to join if there are free spots.
    • Closed Clan – No person can apply or join, and no member, regardless of rank, can send invitations (the status must be changed to accept new members).
  • Checkbox (Checked) Icon.png On / Checkbox Icon.png Off – For the profanity filter option.
  •   Edit   – Select a Clan Crest and Dragon, used to represent the Clan.
  •   Change   – Select a Language to be used in chat, Global (any/all languages) is the default.
  •   Accept   150,000 Gold Icon.png – Confirm desired options, which costs 150,000 Gold Icon.png Gold.

Member List

Clan Member List Button.png

The Members List button has two numbers on it, the first represents the current number of Clan members, the second represents the current maximum members. Pressing it provides drop-down sorting options and a list of all Clan members. The information show includes avatar, Player Level, Clan rank (if any), nickname, Dragon Collector Points, donations, MVP score (and temporary MVP Icon.png MVP rank if present), Clan Power Booster Icon.png Power Booster points, the last time the Trainer logged in (depending on privacy settings), and a more ••• button.

The sorting drop-down menu provides options for sorting members by:

The ••• button on each player's listing provides additional functions:

  • Invite – Send a friend invite (appears if not already friends).
  • Visit – Visit the Trainer's islands.
  • Check Profile – Check the Trainer's profile.
  • Report Report Icon.png – Report the player (see Reporting).
  • Block Block Icon.png – Block the player (see Blocking).

Ranked members see further functions, depending on rank:

  • Remove – Remove from Clan.
  • Promote – Promote to another Clan Rank.
  • Accept – Accept non-member request to join (if Clan status is Join by request).
  • Decline – Decline non-member request to join (if Clan status is Join by request).

Collection

Collection Button.png

The Collection option provides a list of currently owned Clan Dragons.

Clan Dragons

Clan Dragons are unique Dragons that are only obtained in, and belong to, a Clan. Each Clan receives an Enigma Egg when the Clan is created, this egg houses Chip, the first of 9 Clan Dragons earned by obtaining Card Packs in Clan Events.

Clan Dragons cannot be placed in Habitats Icon.png Habitats, fought with in individual battles, or sold. Clan Dragons have a Rarity Icon.png Rarity but no Dragon Codex Icon.png Dragon Codex entry, no Elements, and they give no Experience Icon.png Experience nor Dragon Collector Points Icon.png Dragon Collector Points. Instead, they have Clan Dragon Powers that can be activated before a Clan Event starts, making events easier, though it cannot be changed after the event begins.

See Clan Dragons for a list of Clan Dragon and their Powers.

Hatching

Each Clan Dragon requires multiple eggs to be hatched, through Community Hatching where Clan members incubate and hatch the required number of eggs. The Dragon's powers are useable after the final egg is hatched.

Hatched a Clan Dragon egg by pressing the Clans Icon.png Clan button, pressing the Clan Events button, and then pressing Hatching Event Icon.png Hatch button. The same option is accessed from the aforementioned fortress screen, by pressing the Collection 2 Button.png Collection button then the Hatching Event Icon.png Hatch button from any Clan Dragon's snapshot. When all required eggs are hatched, the Enigma Egg is replaced by the Adult Dragon and its Clan Dragon Powers become useable.

Clan Events & Fortress

Enigma Egg Button.png

Clan Events Button.png

In the Clans interface, the Clan Events button houses all functions related to the Clan Fortress Powers, Clan Dragons, and Clan Events. This button features an Enigma Egg if the Clan is new or has a Clan Dragon needing to be hatched, or it features the active Clan Dragon if no hatching is needed. Once a Clan dragon is hatched, the Clan is eligible to play in events and the Clan Fortress button may also display one or more countdowns timers. Countdown timers include days until event participation opt-in, the next event, or the current event's end. From outside a Clan, if a Clan Event is in-progress, the Clan Dragon Button.png button appears depicting the currently active Clan Dragon; this button provides a shortcut to directly access the Clan Fortress screen.

Pressing the Clan Events button opens the Clan Fortress courtyard, displaying buttons to:

  • Powers Button.png – open the Clan Fortress Powers, which depend on Fortress Level.
  • Collection 2 Button.png – open the Clan Dragons Collection.
  • Next Event Button.png – view the next Clan Event type, time until start, and recommended Clan Dragons for the event (appears only between events).
  • Hatching Event Icon.png Hatch – hatch a Clan Dragon egg (appears only if there are eggs to hatch).

At the edges of the screen also appears the:

  • Clan Tab Group Button.png – Clan Tabs group, which opens to the Clan Quests Icon.png Clan Quests tab.
  • ? – Information button, for information about Clan Chests, Clan Trinket Gifts Icon.png Clan Trinket Gifts and milestones.
  • Power Boosters Icon.png110+ Button.png – Power Boosters count, for powering up the Clan Dragon.

Events

Clan Events are limited-time competitions Clans can participate in only if they have a fully hatched Clan Dragon. Clan members work together to reach milestones, compete against each other and other Clans, to earn rewards. For the duration of the event, Clan Quests give items needed for Clans to progress through the event, in addition to the regular rewards.

There are 4 types of Clan events, Clan Siege Icon.png Clan Siege, The Great Dragon Race Icon.png The Great Dragon Race, Sugar Rush Icon.png Sugar Rush, and Emerald Wars Icon.png Emerald Wars. Clan events begin on Mondays at 09:00 UTC and end Fridays at the same hour. On rare occasions, these events occur during the weekend. Members who joined the clan after an event starts, cannot participate and have to wait until the next event.

Leagues

Clans are grouped into 5 different leagues of approximately the same strength. Each league has several leaderboards, each having a maximum of 100 Clans. The current Clan league affects the prizes and requirements in Clan Events. Leagues 2–5 provide a Clan Fortress power bonus, that increases as higher leagues are reached. Some leagues also give the Clan several shields in addition to those unlocked through leveling:

Clan (Fortress) Powers

Clan Powers Button.png

Though the fortress cannot be upgraded by individual Trainers, it is leveled collectively by member actions within a Clan, and has powers; this means only members of a Clan can use its powers. The Clan Fortress powers are used individually and can be used by Clan members even if no Clan Dragon is hatched.

Fortress Levels/Upgrading

The Clan Fortress has 5 levels, tied directly to Clan League. The higher a Clan places in Clan Leagues, by participating in Clan Events, the greater the Fortress benefits for individual members.

Clan Quests

Sticker - Cry.png
Update 7.8 reintroduced the bug resolved in 7.7, where pressing the Clan Quests button displays quests giving items but not the active Clan event tasks requesting, instead displaying Clan Chests, hindering Trainers' ability to participate in Clan events by once again making Clan event participation a problematic two-step process.
Clan Quest Button.png
Clan Quest (Chest) Button.png
Notification - Clan Quest Completed.png

The Clan Quest button provides a list of Clan Quest Icon.png quests that individual members complete between or during Clan Events to earn personal rewards and help the Clan. Between Clan Events, quests earn Trainers up to 1,000 Clan Coins Icon.png Clan Coins per day, up to 1,600 Clan Trinkets Icon.png Clan Trinkets, and unlimited Power Boosters Icon.png Power Boosters and Clan Clan Experience Icon.png Clan Experience.

During Clan Events, quests earn items needed for the event. Quests auto-start, and up to 5 quests (the limit of the quest display) can be completed at a time, though they can be refreshed with a wait time, to produce alternate quests. Once the Clan Coins and Clan Trinkets daily limit is reached, quests are continued for Clan Experience only (Power Boosters cannot be collected during Clan Events).

  • Go – Brings the Trainer to an area or building where the quest can be completed.
  • Trash Icon.png – Delete a quest (free, begins the 2-hour refresh timer).
    • Skip 15 Gems Icon.png – Skips the refresh time by paying 15 Gems Icon.png Gems.
  •   Claim   – Claims quest rewards once completed.

Clan Quest Milestones

Sticker - Cry.png
This feature currently has Issues.

Regular Clan Quest Milestones Clan Trinkets Icon.png  Food Icon.png    Gold Icon.png    Clan Trinkets Gift Icon.png    Food Icon.png   Gold Icon.png appear at the top of the Clan Quests Icon.png Clan Quests window, between Clan Chest Events. These milestones award Food Icon.png Food, Gold Icon.png Gold, or Clan Trinket Gifts Icon.png Clan Trinket Gifts at milestones 100, 300, 520, 740, 960, and 1,200 as indicated. As up to 1,600 Clan Trinkets Icon.png Clan Trinkets can be collected a day, and the last milestone requires only 1,200, the milestones restart when the end is reached. Milestone progress continues on the restarted milestones until the daily maximum is reached, after which time only the claiming of Trinket Gifts continues to advance the progress bar, as they do not count towards the personal Clan Trinkets limit.

When a trinket gift milestone is reached, the gifting Trainer receives a notification that Clan Trinkets were sent to every Clan member. A message also appears in the Gifts and Donations Icon.png Gifts and Donations tab for other Trainers, which allows claiming 10 Clan Trinkets from every member who has recently reached the milestone. The Claim Claim button must be pressed to claim Clan Trinket Gifts.

Clan Trinkets

Clan Trinkets Clan Trinkets Icon.png Clan Trinkets are an In-Game Currency specific to Clans, that allow Clan members to reach Clan Quest milestones and obtain keys for Clan Chests.

See Clan Trinkets and Clan Chests for more information.

Clan Experience & Power Boosters

Clan Experience Clan Experience Icon.png helps the Clan rise in level, it stops accumulating when the maximum Clan level is reached. Clan Power Boosters Power Boosters Icon.png are used to Power Up the Clan Dragon. Completing Clan Quests Icon.png Clan Quests is the only way to earn either, and between 90 and 130 is given of each (though limited events occasionally provide double Power Boosters).

Clan Chest Events

Clan Chests are both a type of chest and a time-limited competition in which chests can be obtained collectively by members of a Clan. Once obtained, the chests provide rewards to Clan members individually, who qualify to open them. Clan Chest events begin on Mondays at 09:00 UTC and end 21 days later, on a Friday, at the same hour.

Clan Chests

For the duration of the event, the regular milestone rewards change, and certain milestones (100, 300, 520, 740, 960 and 1200) additionally award Clan Trinkets Icon.pngClan Chest Key Icon.png  Clan Chest Key Icon.png  Clan Chest Key Icon.png  Clan Trinkets Gift Icon.png  Clan Chest Key Icon.png  Clan Chest Key Icon.png  Clan Chest Keys. Milestones are reached daily by individual Trainers, but the keys earned are added to the collective Clan Chest Keys Clan Chest Key Icon.png256/1,000 pool.

The event milestones repeat when the end is reached, and trinkets accrue again until the daily trinkets maximum. The personal Clan Trinkets maximum resets daily at 03:00 UTC. A minimum number of keys must be acquired collectively for each chest type to be obtained. Each chest type also has a personal key amount minimum, for individual Trainers to open an obtained chest.

Clan Chests come in different rarities, and can only be accessed one at a time, in order from least to most rare. Each subsequent Chest features a greater set of rewards, up to the Tyrant chest. When the time runs out, chest progress resets. After all chests have been opened, no further chests or chest rewards can be obtained until the next chest event begins.

The amount of Food or Gold awarded depends on Trainer Level, the highest Level Modifier amount is displayed.

    • Moved the chat text input field to the bottom, though it moves to the top on mobile once activated, to accommodate keyboard location.
    • Moved the Top Clans (Competition Ranking) button from the Clan Search interface to the in-Clan more or settings interface, meaning new Trainers cannot join Top Clans via this list until they've already joined or created another Clan.
    • Changed that chat pane's new message location to the bottom of the interface, rather than the top, to align with SMS texting behavior.
    • Added a separate tab, before the Clan Quests tab, for Clan Trinket Gifts and donation requests, both of which no longer appear in the main chat tab.

Bugs or Issues

  • Update 8.0: Caused an issue where Clan Chat was made smaller and more difficult to read for all platforms.
    • Caused a bug where new Chat text submitted on mobile devices displayed behind the keyboard when message direction displayed was reversed (to bottom, instead of top).
    • Caused a bug where the Chat text input field randomly disappeared while typing, failing to submit text or causing text in the field to disappear.
    • Caused a bug where Chat touch-scrolling failed when the text is still loading, though scroll returned to normal once fully loaded.
    • Caused an issue where ranked members of a Clan could no longer see their rank (or badge if applied) in Clan Chat, leading some to think they had been demoted when no demotion had occurred.
    • Caused an issue where the Clan List option, under the Clan Settings ••• button is mislabeled, it actually opens the Clan Search window, which was removed from the Join or Create a Clan screen and has nothing to do with the current Clan's settings. The feature may have been incorrectly placed, as it makes more sense to house this function on the Join or Create a Clan screen, where it applies and is most contextually relevant and useful.
  • Update 7.8: Reintroduced the issue resolved in 7.7.2, where pressing the Clan Quests button displays quests but not the active Clan event tasks, hindering Trainers' ability to participate in Clan events by making every participation action a problematic two-step process. The Quests pane fails to remember the last known state of open versus closed.
  • Update 7.7: Resolved a bug where Clan Quest ingredient icons shrunk in size on remaining quests each time the claim button was pressed.
    • Resolved a bug where Clan Trinkets count rolled back small amounts for some users.
    • Resolved a bug where user avatars overflowed below trinket gift notifications.
    • Resolved an Android bug where the Clan Quests list appeared empty on initial opening.
    • Resolved a bug where 5 additional recipes could not be purchased in exchange for Gems in The Great Dragon Race event.
    • Resolved a bug where the number of past messages was less than normal or reset daily.
  • Update 7.7: Caused an issue where pressing the Clan Quests button doesn't display the tasks for the current Clan event, hindering Trainers' ability to participate in Clan events by making every participation action a problematic two-step process. The Quests pane fails to remember the last known state of open versus closed.
    • Caused a bug where Clan ranks abilities were changed, but the dialogue text was not updated, making its help description incorrect.
    • Caused a bug where Donations for Primal enchantment materials can be requested that don't exist, causing an erroneous request to be stuck in chat for 24 hours that cannot be fulfilled or dismissed.
    • Caused a bug where Clan Trinket Gifts are routinely given at seemingly random intervals outside its normal milestone, which can occur multiple times a day.
    • Caused an issue where Clan Quest ingredient count text, for The Great Dragon Race, was too small to read on small mobile devices.
