Dragon Leveling

Leveling up a Dragon increases its Attack and Health stats, as well as its Gold production. Leveling Dragons also enables them to take part in some Gameplay Elements.

Levels

To increase a Dragon's level by one, a Dragon must be fed four times. Feeding is done by selecting the Habitat the Dragon is in, pressing the Dragon's icon, then pressing the Feed button. From here, the Trainer must drag pieces of Food from the Cornucopia located on the right-hand side of the screen, to the Dragon. When there is not enough Food to feed a Dragon, the cornucopia shows as empty.

When a Dragon reaches Level 4 it changes from baby to adult form, making it eligible for Breeding, battle, Dragon Training, and improving its Skills at the Academy. At Level 16, it can be enchanted. Except Boss Dragons and Clan Dragons, all Dragons in the Trainer's possession can be leveled. The level of the Trainer's Dragons affects the level of opposing Dragons encountered in Dungeon Brawls, in Campaign Map Side Quest battles, and in event battles. At Level 20, Sigils can be equipped to Dragons. When a Dragon reaches its maximum level of 120, a Sacred Apple can be used to raise the maximum one Level, up to five times for a total maximum of Level 125.

• The Duke of Dragons badge is earned when the first Dragon is fed to Level 120.

Food Per Level

Below is a table of the amount of Food required to reach the next level, the individual feeding amounts, and the total needed at that level. Starting with Level 80, the amount of Food to level up stays the same for each level. The total amount of food required to reach the maximum level of 120 is 495,737,028 Food.

 

Opposing NPC Dragons are not restricted by a maximum level, thus Dragons over the Player's maximum level can be encountered.

Running out of Food

Occasionally, when the Trainer has no Food left to feed the Dragon, the Watch Ad Video option is offered in exchange for (200*Level Modifier) Food. This option appears if the amount necessary to feed the Dragon does not exceed what is offered by the video. If that offer is not given, or is dismissed, another screen appears, giving the option to close it, or to choose between the  Farm  or  Buy More  options. Selecting the Farm button takes the Trainer to the closest unoccupied farm, where selecting the other button takes the Trainer to the menu for buying Food.

• Update 7.9: Made a Dragon, Bee Dragon, have a maximum level exception of Dragon Level 130 if purchased in the Main Shop for real money despite the maximum level being Level 120 for normal leveling, or Level 125 with Sacred Apple use.
